Diablo Dancers offers annual classes for beginners with free introductory nights. If you're like most people, you remember square dancing from Junior or High School. Square dancing is no longer dominated by the 50+ crowd, at least not in our community, and it's a great way to meet new people in a non-bar/ no alcohol environment.
Diablo Dancers does not require you to have a partner to join the class. While couples are encouraged to attend, joining as a single is just fine. Don't worry, you'll never be left sitting when there's dancing to be done. Diablo Dancers is a "family" and we pride ourselves in providing a welcoming environment in a world where we are often left "sitting" because of who we are.
No special costume is required. For us, square dance "attire" is nearly anything you have in your closet...and sometimes what's not in your closet; but moonshine tips are another story altogether. Jeans, shorts, long-sleeved shirts or short-sleeved shirts, and yes, even dresses, with or without crinolines, are all permitted. If it's "street legal"; you will not be turned away. Diablo Dancers is a Fashion Police free zone.
